Connectors to the Fujitsu / Denso (TOYOTA) Head Unit

Pictures & Descriptions of the Connectors to the Fujitsu / Denso OEM Navigation Screen (Head Unit) on a 2003 Toyota 4Runner Limited Edition (LE)

The Connectors (Left to Right, Top to Bottom):
5-Pin Connector (Sensor signals):
        
(Right Picture) From Right to Left:
  • Pin 1: PKB (Parking Break. This signal is grounded when parking break switch is closed. Floats otherwise) - Input - Connected
  • Pin 2: Not Used - Not Connected
  • Pin 3: SPD (Generated from the Speedometer. Most likely this is the Vehicle speed sensor pulse line) - Input - Connected
  • Pin 4: TST (Test?) - Input - Not Connected
  • Pin 5: REV (Reverse Signal. This signal is tied to +12v when the car is in reverse) - Input - Connected

10-Pin Connector (Video & Communications):
        
(Right Picture) From Right to Left, Top to Bottom:
  • Pin 1: VR (Grounded when Ignition Switch is Off) - Neither Input nor Output - Connected
  • Pin 2: R (Red VGA) - Input - Connected
  • Pin 3: B (Blue VGA) - Input - Connected
  • Pin 4: Not Used - Not Connected
  • Pin 5: TX+ (Transmission+) - In/Out - Connected
  • Pin 6: VG (Ground/Shield) - Neither Input nor Output - Connected
  • Pin 7: G (Green VGA) - Input - Connected
  • Pin 8: SYNC (Probably VSync, Grounds for about .5 X 10^-6s every 6.5 X 10^-6s) - Input - Connected

  • Pin 1: V+ (Positive Voltage Terminal?? Referred to as B-Eye on Schematics, Probably a composite video signal) - Input - Connected
  • Pin 2: CA+ (??) - Output - Connected
  • Pin 3: V- (Negative Voltage Terminal?? Referred to as B-Eye-In on Schematics, probably a composite video signal) - Input - Connected
  • Pin 4: GND (Ground) - Neither Input nor Output - Connected
